This bread machine has a lot going for it, for the price: simplicity, easy to use, good basic recipes in the manual (good jumping off points for adaptation of recipes found elsewhere). It DOES have a learning curve. Do exactly what the manual says: use proper measurements, and with time that will be second nature to you. It took us about a week to get a consistently good loaf but once we did, it's been fun and tasty. ...more

I don't use white flour of any type, so I need to adjust the recipes a bit. But so far everyone is ok with the bread I have made and it still goes quickly. This is saving me about $3.50 a loaf! This is the third bread maker we have had, my panasonic is the best ever, but i bought this one for my daughter as we could not get the panasonic model I have in the usa. The Breadman has proved itself a worthy peer to the panasonic, great bread,consistant quality and quiet performance. The clean stainless lines suit the kitchen appliances she has. Frankly there quite similar in design and use. Some new features of the 2700 I love are the convection oven which has been giving my loaves a wonderfully even crust, and it is much, much quieter than the TR2200. (I have no idea what the earlier review complaining of noise was talking about). Also, to counter another poor review, this machine DOES NOT bounce... It is solid and stable. I have a B&D all in one bread machine i bought in 1990.That thing is the best, i have made hundreds of loaves of bread, pizza dough, etc, i have never had anything stick! their non-stick for crying out loud, nor have i had any bread burn. Unlike other models, this one gives you a 15-minute warm up period so you do not have to worry as much about the temperature of the ingredients as you put them in to the machine. I have made at least eight different recipes on a regular basis and the only time something did not work was more of a result of the recipe than the machine. All recipes are not written equally!
